Tēnā koutou katoa. Ngā mihi mahana ki a koutou.

Ko Ngāti Porou, ko Ngāti Kahungunu ōku iwi i te taha o toku mama.

I am of Irish descent on my father’s side.

Ko Angela Fanning ahau.

Angela is a counsellor and supervisor working in private practice in Richmond, with a speciality in couple work. Angela completed a Bachelor of Counselling in Wellington in 1999, followed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision from the Transactional Analysis Institute, Wellington.

She worked for two years as counsellor at Whakatū Marae, working with a broad base of client; tamariki, rangatahi, pakeke, whānau, children, youth, adults and family.

Angela’s life journey has seen her learning, and struggling to hold onto, the poetic language that is te reo māori. Angela loves to be in those places/spaces where she has an opportunity to listen to and practice te reo. Reo connects Angela to her roots, to extended whanau, to  herself and to a spirituality which nourishes her.

Outside of work, Angela has three children and two grandchildren. She loves to be in the outdoors; white water kayaking, sea kayaking, tramping and in her garden.
