If you've always wanted to discover the fun and creativity of screen printing, this introductory course is a great place to start.

Designed for absolute beginners, this short course focuses on methods, techniques, and designs specific to textile printing. 

Course aims

Participants will learn the fundamentals of screen printing through exploring a range of processes, techniques and the safe use of equipment. 

  • Understanding the technical aspects of screen printing using a process-based approach
  • Generating and preparing your own designs suitable for textile printing
  • Preparing, coating, and developing a screen using photographic emulsions
  • Producing and applying hand-cut stencils to screens
  • Developing hand-inking skills with the opportunity to advance into more challenging techniques during the course
  • Understanding colour mixing including working transparent and opaque based inks 
  • Learning production techniques through experimentation and testing
  • Printing a variety of designs on a range of fabrics and/or garments
