Providing real-world insights into governance within Te Tauihu, this programme will help you develop strategic planning and relationship management skills to support iwi and community initiatives. You will also gain expertise in financial management, risk mitigation, and sustainability, ensuring you can uphold kaitiakitanga in governance settings.

You will also deepen your understanding of legal frameworks, trust structures, and governance ethics, equipping you with the knowledge to navigate governance processes with integrity. Through a kaupapa Māori lens, the programme strengthens your leadership capabilities, empowering you to make meaningful contributions to your iwi and broader community.

  • Kotahitanga & Whanaungatanga – unity and relationship-building for effective governance.
  • Kaitiakitanga – financial management, risk mitigation, and sustainability.
  • Pono & Tika – governance structures, legal frameworks, and ethical leadership.

How will you study?

You will study over the course of a year with weekly online tutorials and Saturday wānanga on the proposed dates.
